Median Wasp
Median wasps are an aggressive species, they often nest in bushes and will come out in a most angry frenzy if you should happen to accidently disturb them with a hedge strimmer.
Median wasps Dolichovespula media are distinguishable through their darker abdomins, which can be more black than yellow, on their face they have a small anchor marking similar to the Common wasp. Nests are grey and don't get past the size of a good sized football, made from ribbons of wood pulp they tend to be grey in colour.
