Crazy Ant
There are a number of tropical crazy ant species which are reported here in the UK. They tend to occur in large buildings within cities where there is a steady climate.
The ants take their name from the way in which they travel. Unlike other species of ants which follow a pheromone scent trail Crazy ants just wander around irratically, they also travel far from their nests foraging. This makes locating a nest to eradicate difficult.
